Fighting off winter dandruff!
As a medical student in the middle of my medicine rotation, there's definitely not enough time in the morning to get ready and eat breakfast, let alone do my hair! (Okay, I digress. I would willingly skip breakfast to do my makeup because look good = feel good = do good right? but that's another story). I'm always looking for the best products to get the most out of my time, and it definitely applies to haircare as well.
I don't know about you, but I definitely get some dandruff from time to time and it's kind of gross. Using Head & Shoulders isn't all that exciting either, but I didn't know of any other products to use. Enter Maple Holistic's Tea Tree Shampoo. They seemingly read my mind, and kindly sent over a bottle for me to try. I've just been ignoring the issue and hoping it'll go away (you can't really see it anyway with my white coat on right? LOL gross, I know, sorry). I was excited to try it out, because I LOVE the smell of tea tree oil. I wasn't aware of its benefits, but the scent was enough for me to give it a go. It comes in an 8oz round plastic bottle. I personally love the size, because for some reason I feel like it's an accomplishment to have finished a product - is that just me? I can never get through those enormous shampoo bottles and having them sit in my shower half-empty just bugs me. Anyway, back to the my point.
I've used up pretty much the whole thing at this point, and I really do love it. I'm not just saying that, because I definitely wouldn't share anything that I didn't actually like and use myself!
1. It smells invigorating - which is perfect for an early morning shower (in that case for me, 4am! yikes), or a refreshing end to your day before bed. It's not one of those sickly smells that makes me gag a little. I hate when my shower smells like candy. It's great that although it's invigorating, it doesn't leave my hair and scalp feeling stripped, as a lot of invigorating products tend to do.
2. My dandruff has gone away! My favorite color to wear is black, and that coupled with having black hair; any scalp issues are quite obvious. Really not a cute look. I've been using this every day for a bit over a month, and have noticed such improvement! I'm thinking about getting a second bottle.
3. It's made in the USA with natural products, and is cruelty free & parabens free. I'm going to admit that I'm not one who looks at every product to see if it's cruelty/parabens free; but it's definitely something I appreciate, and will lean towards that product. It just feels nice that nobody was harmed in efforts to make me feel better, you know?
All in all, it's definitely a product I would recommend. It does a good job, is reasonably priced, and gives me a good boost of energy with the scent. Can't really ask for that much more in a shampoo. If you'd like to give it a shot, Maple Holistics also provides samples free of charge. It makes a great stocking stuffer idea too. Free shipping over $25 helps as well! If you try it out, let me know what you think! What are your favorite hair products?
